 Selling on consignment means that the consignor (you) simply brings in items to be sold and the business handles all the rest. In the end the Consignor earns a percentage of the selling price without the hassle of selling their items themselves. No answering buyer’s questions, arranging pick-ups or running to the post office to ship items. It’s a great solution for those who just want to clear out their closets and make some money doing so.

 I can accept women’s and men’s clothing items including tops, pants, skirts, sweaters, jeans, dresses, coats, jackets, rainwear, athletic wear, and swimwear all in new or excellent condition only. 

We also accept handbags and shoes. 

Additionally, we do not accept any lingerie, maternity clothing, undergarments, scrubs, work/business suits, wedding gowns, or formal gowns. Please no children’s clothes. The goal is to sell your items quickly and for a profit- the types of items I can’t accept just don’t sell well online. 

 Blooming Resale strives to offer only name-brand, designer and luxury items. The online market is much different than a retail store so please understand if I must say “no thank you” to some of your items. 

Brand Guidelines:  Ann Taylor, Anthrolopologie, Birkenstock, Brahmin, Burberry, Coach, Columbia, Doc Martin, Dooney & Bourke, Eloquii, Free People, Gucci, J Crew, Kate Spade, Lane Bryant, Lilly Pulitzer, LL Bean, Loft, Louis Vuitton, Lululemon, Madewell, Michael Kors, Patagonia, Patricia Nash, Prada, Rothys Tieks, Ted Baker, The North Face, Torrid, Tory Burch, Talbots and MORE! 

Blooming Resale cannot accept brands from Walmart, Target, Old Navy, Gap and the like. Unfortunately these types of items take a very long time to sell online. 

 All consignors will make 40% of the selling price. 

Example: 

Selling Price: $100

Consignor earns: $40 (40%)

Blooming Resale: $40 (40%)

Online Platform Fees: $20 (20%; these are fees that every online platform charges sellers)

The Consignor percentage is very standard for consignment stores but I would also like to note that items sold online generally sell for more than a regular brick-and-mortar store. 

 The consignment period is 120 days. 

Yes, this may seem longer than retail consignment stores, however as I’ve mentioned, online sales are much different. This extra time also accounts for processing which includes steaming, measuring, photographing and inventorying items. 

Prices are set at the sole discretion of Blooming Resale. Comparable research is done across multiple platforms on similar SOLD items to determine a listing price for each item. I always price competitively so the consignor can earn the most money possible. Please understand I may have to send special offers or promotions to sell your items which lowers the selling price. 

You can choose to be paid via Venmo, PayPal Electronic Transfer or mailed a physical check.

 Consignment is done by appointment only. Please use the “Consignment Appointment” link to set up your appointment. I prefer if you stay while I look through your items but if you want to drop off then you must pick the items I cannot accept the next day. 

 I sell online only on platforms such as Poshmark, Ebay, Mercari, Instagram and Facebook Marketplace. 

Generally speaking, yes. Most buyers want to buy clothing based on the weather in their area. With that said, I do sell across the country where climates differ. I will accept winter clothing in July, but the consignor must understand that it may take longer to sell these items or they may not sell at all during the consignment period. 

You have two options for handling your unsold items. You can choose to have them donated to the Hand In Hand Thrift Store that benefits the Falmouth Service Center or you can choose to pick up your unsold items. If you choose to pick up, you must pick up the items within 14 days after the consignment period ends. 

Unfortunately, I cannot accept these items. They’re simply not my specialty. 

This would be handled on a case-by-case basis, but yes I would. This option offers less money earned but would be an immediate payout. Please reach out to me directly if this is what you’d like to pursue. 

Not necessarily. Please be mindful of the brand guidelines when choosing which items you’d like to consign but if you end up with a lot of stuff to bring in that’s fine.  

The processing time for online sales is time consuming and I am one woman show. Please give me 2-3 weeks to get everything listed. This time is accounted for in the extended consignment period.  

 Blooming Resale isn’t a regular store to visit. All items are packaged away, ready to be shipped.  If you are local to Falmouth, I offer “in-store pick up” to save you on shipping.
